What Is Wingspan?

Wingspan is an engine-building game where players create efficient ecosystems across three habitats:

• Forest – Generate food

• Grassland – Produce eggs

• Wetland – Draw more bird cards

Each bird you play adds new abilities, increases efficiency, and expands your scoring potential throughout the game.

Game Story

You are building and managing wildlife preserves, trying to attract birds that thrive in each habitat.
Throughout the game you will:

• Gather food to attract stronger bird species

• Lay eggs to expand your preserve

• Draw new birds and create powerful combos

• Trigger special bird abilities that mirror real-world behavior

At the end of each round, players compete for unique goals—such as having the most eggs, birds in specific habitats, or birds with certain traits.

The game ends after four rounds, and the player with the highest total points wins.

Gameplay Summary

Wingspan combines resource management, engine-building, and tactical planning.

1. Play a Bird to a habitat
